A few simple questions answered:
How many visits are typically needed to sort:
1. Callus, one visit gives immediate relief but hard skin can build up so regular treatment may be needed.
2. Verucca normally need between 3 and 6 treatments.
3. Corns normally need 1 treatment but can recur, so follow up after 6 weeks is recommended.
4. Ingrown toenail normally need 1 treatment for a simple case but 2 treatments for more serious cases. In exceptional cases ongoing tretament may be needed.
5. Fungal nail infections are extremely difficult to clear with monthly treatment for anything from 3 months to 12 months. As no single treatment works for everyone, we offer many different treatments most of which work on between 70% to 90% of patients, usually if one treatement does not work another will. Very occasionally the only option is oral medication form your GP. Oral treatments have a risk of severe side effects and are normally only prescibed when all other options have been exhausted.

Treatment
Fungal nail infection, also kown as onychomycosis, can be difficult to treat but there are several treatment options:
TOPICAL MEDICATION, such as Emtrix cream (inhibits nail psoriasis) or with a doctor's prescription efinaconazole (arrests ergosterol biosynthesis) or ciclopirox (effective against tinea versicolor)
ORAL ANTIFUNGAL MEDICATION, prscribed medicines such as Terbinafine (lamisil) and itraconazole (sporanox).
NAIL DEBRIDEMENT or TRIMMING, regular trimming and thinning of nails helps medication reach deeper layers of the nail.
LASER TREATMENT, clinically proven to be effective in around 80% of cases.
HOME REMEDIES, tee tree oil, vinigar soak (soaking feet in a mixture of water and vinigar) can reduce symptoms.
